upcoming NEWS & events

The hoot is now open for the 2024 season with New owners!

and FORtunately that’s all that is changing.

Anna and Jon poto are collaborating with the New owners, Robert Macdowell and Janiece Fazio, to provide a seamless transition for our customers. As the new owners, Janiece and Rob, have no intention of changing The hoot since the restaurant already works like a charm. they plan on continuing the hoot’s magic by consistently providing DIstinct, delicious meals from breludin and howling bog farms (formerly herrick’s corner farm), local, sustainable, organic ingredients, and the same superb dining experience for our treasured clientele.

please see our current brunch menu below which is be being served thursday - sunday, 7am - 2pm.

our monday night dinner menu is keeping our ingredients local while taking our guests around the world and down south this season. First, the menu will feature food from Mexico, Central & South America, and the Caribbean (May 6th and June 3rd). our next destination will be north africa and the middle east (May 13th and June 10th). The third dinner service will be asian (May 20th and June 17th). the last in the traveling rotation will be creole and Barbeque (May 27th & June 24th).

come hungry and we’ll see you soon!

Our FARM

The Hoot is a farm-to-table restaurant that sources the meat we serve from Northport family farms. Breludin Farm, located five miles from the restaurant, is a 700 acre property devoted entirely to producing meat and vegetables for our guests. Howling Bog Farm (formerly Herrick’s Corner Farm) is an abutting 300 acre property where we raise heritage breed pigs and have a 20’x50’ high tunnel greenhouse for produce. We raise 100% grass-fed beef and lamb following organic practices, as well as free-range chicken and pastured pork. All of our herbs and vegetables are also grown organically.   We serve organic maple syrup from Gray Jay Sugarworks in Jackman, and our bread comes from Brazen Baking Company in Rockport, Maine, made with Maine grown whole wheat flour and organic white flour. In addition  to our own farms, we support a variety of local farmers within 25 miles of our restaurant.
